Procrastination and motivation….
Posted on 06 August 2010
I have not posted for more than a month – the reason is as usual procrastination and my never-ending struggle with motivation! I believe that everyone has these problems, but sometimes I feel that I am particularly bad. My son is difficult to motivate in terms of doing his school work. Normal I suppose, but he really has absolutely no interest in it. I find myself getting really tense with him and this causes a lot of friction. Now, the other day, I find myself dithering and finding all sorts of other things that need to be done instead of sitting down and working on my blog posts. I am no different to my son! How can I get upset when he won’t study? So, I have determined to continue giving him all the help I can, but I am no longer going to pressure him into studying. This is going to have to come from within him, he has to realise that he and only he can do the work. There is a lesson in this for me!
I was lent a book called “Double Your Income Doing What You Love” by Raymond Aaron. In the introduction to the book by Robin Yearsley he says “In around 2 hours the whole book is a kind of self-diagnostic device for getting you thinking and acting more towards what you deliberately want to achieve in your life – hooked to the concept of, “if you do what you really love and excel at (which might be different) then it is possible to double your income”. As Confucius said: “Give a man a job he loves, and he will never work a day in his life.” Interesting that, so true! I have been working with this book and will tell you whether or not it worked for me. If you would like to know more about Raymond Aaron you can visit him here http://raymondaaron.com.
While I was working through Raymond’s book I found Leo Babauta, his blog is one of the Top 100 in the world and has 185,000 readers, you will find him here http://zenhabits.net go there, there is lots of good stuff.
OK I am working my way through this bad phase and will continue with my search for the best network marketing product…..
