Reasons for getting involved in Network Marketing….
Posted on 12 April 2010
I think in the previous posts I was getting a little ahead of myself in my search for the perfect network marketing model/product, the question “why would one want to get involved in network marketing?” needs to be addressed first. Here is my take on this…
Fewer than 5% of people can afford to retire and maintain the lifestyle that they are accustomed to. Even though they, as employees, have been contributing to a 401(k) retirement savings plan in the USA and elsewhere to pension/provident funds or some sort of annuity most of their working life and have still not saved enough! And since companies that have this pension/provident funds have woken up to the financial implications to them of “defined benefit” funds and have changed these to “defined contribution” funds, the employees are worse off than before.
Besides that, the majority of people that are employed, are unhappy with what they are doing, and are at a loss as to how to change the situation. Network Marketing or as it used to be known Multi-Level Marketing, is a solution to this. Start up costs are minimal, you can do it part time until you can afford to go at it full time. And you can generate passive or residual income!
As an employee you have absolutely no control over your income! I’ll bet you that the employees of Lehman Brothers thought they had secure jobs at the beginning of 2008. Since it filed for bankruptcy in September 2008 a whopping 169 US banks (more by now) have also failed. The point I am trying to make is that the people that worked at these banks had no control over this (I’m talking about “the workers” not the CEO’s), this total dependence on your company for your livelihood apply’s to all companies – remember the insurance giant AIG? – as an employee you are at your employers mercy!
In my next blog I’ll continue with my take on this…
