What to look for in a Network Marketing Model/Product…
Posted on 15 June 2010
In my quest for knowledge about MLM company’s I discovered that there were companies that specialised in marketing a specific MLM company and made a good living out of organising rah rah’s which you paid to attend, and boy were these tickets expensive! They also sold motivational and training CD’s and DVD’s which had nothing to do with the MLM companies product line – and they seemed to have an unending supply of these, which you were encouraged to buy regularly. Their focus and profits came from all this stuff that you have to buy to help you be successful at building your network marketing business, where you would be selling a different companies products! It amazed me how many supposedly successful network marketers made a lot of money NOT out of product sales, but by selling useless marketing materials. All they succeeded in doing was disillusioning a lot of people about network marketing and giving it a bad name.
When you finally got to the MLM company you were then presented with the infamous ‘distributor kit’ which you had to buy in order to join so that you could make all these millions! Do you detect a certain cynicism here? You should, I have been down this road. To join the MLM company there is invariably a distributor kit that you have to buy which contains the product that you are going to promote/sell. The amount you spend on the distributor kit – because they come in different sizes you see, determines the size of the discount you get on the product that you buy in the future to promote and distribute. Your up-line will encourage you to buy the most expensive distributor kit “because you will get a 50% or whatever discount on all future product you buy”, and this will enable you to make more money! Remember your up-line is probably making 50% or whatever out of you!
So, before you start spending money, establish where their focus is….
